This coffee tasting aka cupping was created with a vision of sharing my love of coffee. We'll take a "flight" through coffee, and travel the world discussing the origin of coffee, different regions, processing, and brewing methods, then try our hand at preparing a few.
Next, we'll use the basic immersion-in-a-cup method everyone around the world uses to cup, compare and grade four different origin coffee flavor profiles subjectively. Time permitting, we will roast a batch of coffee with a compact drum roaster. You'll leave caffeinated and energized by the end of your experience. Bonus: you'll walk out with a branded coffee mug and a sample of Catalina Island Roast Coffee to brew at home.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Ages 14 and older welcome.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Our pop-up event is located within Avalon and will be disclosed upon ticket purchase. It is a few minute walk from just about anywhere in town and there are a flight of stairs to climb. Bicycle http://catalinajetski.com/electric-bike-html (310) 510-2221 and Taxi (310) 510-0025 options available; the taxis can pick you up from any location in Avalon. Golf carts can be pricey to rent hourly, and many vacation rentals provide them, but you will have to park in a special area that we will designate about a block walk from us. Pop-up and parking location information provided with your booking.
Will restrooms be available?
We have basic restroom facilities (not handicap accessible), but it is suggested that you take a quick bathroom break (in the plaza, on the green pier, at the mole or your hotel/vacation rental) before arriving at our location.
What should I bring into the event?
You should bring with you a camera (for the equisite views) and a small bottle of water. When it’s really hot out, we recommend an application of sunscreen on exposed parts of the body and a lightweight pair of sunglasses. During the cooler seasons it’s important to wear an extra layer of clothing and consider bringing gloves and a scarf.
